    Dear ladies,
I got married this year and just before my wedding my periods were irregular,i went for a scan and was told that i have bilateral polycystic ovaries i left in a hurry to usa so i could meet only an allopatheic gynaec. In chennai...since this issue is totally new to me and i didnt hav tym to meet with other practises because i was travelling to usa i am now taking ocps...i m planning to meet up with ayurveda, accupunture or homeo doctors to get a cure for this....i believe it will regress as this should be in the initial stage as my periods started being irregular only some months ago...i am practising yoga...avoided carbs taking brown rice, millets as substitute of rice...if u people could help referring a gud doctor it will be highly helpful so that the next time i visit india i can seek treatment or over the phone..
    Thanks much

    Hi Lakshmi,
Welcome to Indus Ladies & to this forum. :)
You can find our forum guidelines here...

    Congrats for your marriage... :)

You can check your BMI with your height and weight. If your BMI reading is in normal range, then ok; else plan to reduce few Kgs. This might give you a clue on your irregular periods. If possible do some basic blood works like LH, FSH, thyroid, prolactin and insulin resistance. These too can guide you on where you need to concentrate.

Eat healthy & exercise regularly. Try to keep yourself fit. Be happy and lead stress free life!
    All the best.

Through food you can handle PCOS to some level. Reduce carbohydrate intake. Concentrate on protein and fiber rich foods. Avoid sweets or reduce intake of it. If your prolactin hormone levels are normal, try having fenugreek seeds or soaked water each morning. Include vegetables, fruits, nuts and greens. Avoid refined food and processed food. These will help in building healthy body and control PCOS. All the best.
