    Thank you for the reply, Thyagu. This song has done kaala magic on me. I like to think I have a hold on nostalgia and that I only deal with a mild, tempered version of it. But something about this cold winter day ... giving Mr. company to watch the NZ match, but the song playing in my computer in a loop, making a football of my heart : ) My mother's youngest uncle used to sing it while playing the much treasured old harmonium. We took bus and rickshaw to get to his house, as we kids went to the outside tap to wash our feet, we shouted to grand-uncle to not start it before we were done. He used to toy with us by just doing a toooain... sound tuning the harmonium.

    Inexplicable. The Welsh call it hiraeth. In Portuguese it is saudade.
