Paintings : Tanjore Paintings - Instructions / Tutorial

Hi How do u do the shading in the face and body. If i try shading, i only end up lifting the base paint off...is there any technique to do the shading correctly...??

Can you please guide me with the right consistance in mixing the poster colours. to get a smooth finish . Should the poster paint be thick or watery,..to avoid flaking, and prevent the brush strokes become visible .Do i need to put 2 , 3 coats or just one think coat ?How long does it really take it to dry?

looks like 'su' is busy, and wont mind my pitching in with my two cents.

better don't use fevicol, and if at all you have to, dilute with water and use.If you are not able to find arabic gum, any commercial brown gum is fine.

Goddess face: Mix chrome yellow + white+ a dash of lemon yellow.
Krishna:
Baby:white+crimson+indian red
adult:cobalt blue+white
For any sktech, you can google for relevant images and search for line drawings.Most probably you will get what you want.

Flaking or cracking of color happens, when you give a very thick coat of paint.Give diluted coats, roughly 2 to 3 for a smooth finish.The second or third coat should be of a very light touch and quick.Coloring on a paper is totally different from coloring on a canvas board such as for a tanjore painting.

How Can I use this to earn income from home.For doing that what i have to do.Can u please suggest in this regard.

And also anyone knows where can i go to buy materials for tanjore painting.
