Very nice idea, Sridhar and hats off to your friend's strategy too...
What a simple solution! Now what you are going to do when Indhu finds out, when that day is 'no power-cut' day...:)

Auden said it right, every one has pain and how do they take it depends on that person's outlook, isn't it!

A beautiful write up sir!! Very truly said.

Another idea for power cut off day - may be a picnic to some nice place or a visit to some temple or a long drive... :)

SIR , I HOPE YOU GET TICKETS TOMORROW . I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED IF PEOPLE LISTEN TO YOUR ADVICE AND CROWD CINEMA HALLS. MAY BE YOU SHOULD GIVE THIS IDEA TO THE CINEMA HALL OWNERS. THEY WILL MARKET IT AND YOU CAN GET A COMMISSION BY GETTING EXCLUSIVE BOX SEATS AT YOUR DOOR STEP. SORRY FOR TAKING THE TOPIC OFF THE TRACK. YOUR ADVICE IS REALLY GOOD.

Sridhar, great writing as usual. Good idea to go to the movies. I support your wife fully. Do they cut the power for the whole Madurai or only selected area? If it is only selected area, then you can visit your friends and family who are not affected by that or they can do the same thing.
We don't get power cut here that much. Wen it odes happen, we as family TALK. Otherwise, we are too busy with computers and TVs etc.
    Good day!!!!!

    Dear Sridhar,
The people who realise that 'Pain is universal suffering is optional' are sure to be winners in life in every situation! That is the secret to a happy life. But then..... people who take advantage of pain....... Sure that is the best possible solution to keep moving in life. I am sure this post of yours would be an eye opener to many.
    Love
    Malathi

    Dear Sridhar,
When we used to have scheduled load shedding in the mornings two years back, we used to go for a walk. It was a boon in disguise for us. Hi Hi, Now no load shedding and no morning walk for us.
Your friend's strategy is praise worthy. Seeing a movie is a good idea, enteratinment as well as fulfilling Indhu's wish. Hail the power cut!
    Love,
    PS

Thanks, Bhargavi for being the very first to comment on this blog.
The power went off at 9. Soon thereafter I switched off the laptop. Indhu and I went to visit a friend who is in hospital. Then we went for some shopping. And in the afternoon to Boos (e) Baskaran. A comedy movie which we enjoyed along with pop corn and ginger tea.
When we came back power had come.
Life is like a game of Rummy. It may deal you bad cards but also gives you the options to change or group them together in myriads of ways.

    Thanks Jaishree.
Well long-drive and temple visits are something we do even when there is no power-cut.
Of late we both do not have time to go to the movie-halls. And a day-long power-cut provides us a nice excuse for that.
