pain in breast after stopping breastfeeding

hi
i am 25 year old. mother of 19 months old son. for past 2 weeks i have stopped breast feeding my son during day times but i feed him 3-4 times at night when his sleep is disturbed so that he can sleep again. but for last 2 days i have sever pain in my left breast .there is no discharge no lumps but there is little tightness some times .i also had fever and severe back pain when i had pain in breast .
can any one help me out. i m new to sweden i don't know any doctor. is this is possible that this pain is because i am feeding him less.
what is the right age to stop breastfeeding my son.
plz. help me.

Hi shalusaini,

That pain is due to more secretion of milk.
The pain will reduce gradually. Dont worry. I have also undergone such pains, but vanishes within few days. Be :cool2:. To stop more secretion of milk here in south India the mother's diet itself will be plain like rice and rasam, idlis with little chutney, etc., any food which is not very rich for a day or two, then we proceed with normal diet.
you can also have some more suggestions from other friends in IL.

To ease out the pain, stand under shower and squeeze out the milk.
Slowly it would get better.

hi padma ji
now i hav stopped breastfeeding my son during day but at night he wakes up 2-3 times at that time he want to haveit.sometimes he hold it in his mouth n sleep. i m not able toget rid of his this habit.he is never able to sleep for more than 2 -3 hrs continously even during day. this is a routine even when he is not hungry , n when
he has eaten enough before sleeping.
help me if u hav any suggestion.
