Open Marriages - How Common Is It In Our Country?

Well,even if it is reality I doubt anyone in our society or even western society will be open about it.
Even I have heard about it and pretty sure it co exists with so many other weird things in this world.

 

What is open marriage?

 

Everything between the husband and the wife is perfect except the intimacy part. Instead of divorcing or fighting about it they look for intimacy outside the marriage. This is the theory part. In reality, they might get jealous or might develop attachment to the affair partner etc. Even in the West people are not really open about their open marriage.

 

I'm in an open marriage, however I do not live in India. It's not easy being open about open marriage as it's not the social norm. Also I do not want my kids to know about this until they're older and able to understand it better.

 

I wish what the above poster has said is honest and true ...but to be honest on my part , I take the above statement with A Pinch of salt.

I have extensively read and collected information about open marriage available from almost all cultures.. I have seen two documentaries 1 on National Geographic another Discovery channel , each lasting for about 60 minutes on the concept of open marriage.

The conclusion is that open marriage is a myth rather than the reality.

The handful of couple who have in reality tried open marriage miserably failed.. that is what the conclusion of that documentary was.

And I too believe, so.
