Wash raisins and keep aside. Soak pistas for ½ an hour and peel.

<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> Peel onions and cut into thick rings. Soak for 3 hrs in water to which some lime juice has been added.. then boil in fresh water. Drain water, re-fill pan with fresh water and repeat twice more, changing water each time. This should de-odorise onions.

Heat milk and sugar over slow fire for 15 min to thicken. Stir in raisins and pistachios. Add onion and simmer for 5 more mins, stirring continuously. Let mixture come to boil twice over, then sprinkle rose water. Serve warm.
