For now Iam san Jose. But we may move to other states once he finds another project . I have not gone to hospitals here as yet. I am little anxious about hospitals here.usually Iam scared of gynaecs and delivery So the hospital I go has to be near my residence. Is that a rule here or is it my choice. Hope doctors are friendly here.

@sindmani- first do you have a primary care physian who you see? Gynecologist are considered speciality. First find a PCP near your house insurance who covers.
Second- they will recommend a gynecologist usually your insurance will be under the same network.
My experience- my gynecologist was quite close to my house. The hospital that they work in will be your hosptial for delivery. This may or may not be in the location of OB's offic or your home. The rule is you follow OB to the hospital they are comfortable. Usually it will be in the same county or within 5 -10 miles of radius.
Fourth- PCP are friendly but OB's are extremely busy. Have your husband during the initial visit until you get to know your OB. You need to have a set of questions/query- doctors in US don't give a whole lot of information if you don't ask.

    Goodluck

It's ok. Are you pregnant or you think you are pregnant?
If you believe you are pregnant- try to do a home pregnancy test. Then first find out what kind of insurance you have. HMO or ppo
If it's hmo- your PCP will be picked for you. You may need your PCP approval before going to see OB
If it's ppo- you can choose your PCP or visit OB directly after getting an appointment.

Make sure your doctor is in your insurance network. If they send you to get scans, tests or bloodwork make doubly sure that those facilities are also in network or you could receive unpleasant billing surprises.

OP, if you want to consult a gyno, Google and find nearest oby clinic . Call their number and ask. Check reviews of doctor and ask for that doctor. Don't expect that Drs talk much. It is possible to contact oby directly.

As you are new, first find nearest family clinic/ primary care and get a family physician for you. They will guide you well. Feel free to ask them any questions. They will help you to find specialist and arrange appointments for you.

My kids were born in USA. In my experience they treated me like a queen or baby during delivery. You get good service here. During pregnancy doctors don't spent much time with us if we don't have any serous concern. But they monitor well and do all the test in time.
    Good luck
