Old tamil writers and reviews of their writings...

I am fine. Hope you too doiing fine out there with all your beloved ones.

Actually when I started this thread, I was trying to summarize the old and gold stories and the writers who wrote those novels.

But even myself did not do justice to that thought and I felt very much guilty for it. I was chatting with a friend from some other blog, who had asked me to prescribe few books to read. I was saying many books, but one story was stood among all.

I am having that book for long. But did not have a read for quite some time, to be precise, many years if I should admit it.

This story was written in 'kalki' magazine in end of the 1960s. And it was a historical one too. But not by kalki, Sandilyan or any other famous historical writer. Such a very good novel though.. I can say clearly that many can't find another novel by this writer.. even me too.

I wish I could say about the title of the story and narrate a bit too. Actually I am trying to make a hard copy of this book for a past month and a half. But could not able to do so. ( In between, book was missing as few people around me borrowed this book continuously.. )

But I can narrate the story here. Shall I..? Any guesses..?

The writer is Ra. Su. Nallaperumal. Story is 'kallukkul eeram'

Casts : Rangamani, Thiriveni, Kamalavasaki, Sardhar Sokkalingam pillai, SIvanandham, Muthaiyyaa pillai, Aththai ( forgot her name.. ), Venku, Bharathiyar, Mahathma Gandhiji, Subash Chandhra Bose's voice.., va.vu, Chidhambaram pillai,Nehuru ji, Rajaji, Dhevika, Grips, Miller and few others..

Rangamani, the hero is off Subash Chandhra Bose mould came to nellai around 1942 to meet Sardhar Sokkalingam Pillai and stays there in his house. Later found a job in his press Suyetchai achagam.. But behind the scenes they were working as a group, "abaharathamatha sangam".

Rangamani's late father saminathan, who grouped with Vanchinathan killed "Ash" dhurai, later killed by english in an dharna. So Rangamani was trying to take revenge on the english.

Thiriveni, a pretty girl, who is following Gandhiji's foot steps, Sadar's daughter loves Rangamani.. But Rangamani came ther only after a broken affair.

The two faces each other and states their own path is good for india to claim freedom and tries to change other. Rangamani refuses to meet Gandhiji on few occaassions and at last he made his mind after when India got freedom.

The day was january 30 th , 1948. In between, the story narrates, what happened to him and thiriveni, Sardar and the group "baharatha matha's"

Such a very good story.

In 1990s, Actor Ravirahul, ( hero from the film puthunellu puthu naathu.. ) and actress Dhevsri took the main roles in the serial 'kallukkul eeram' which was telecasted in dhoordarshan.
