    Lord Ganesha:

Red colored flowers are the favorite of Lord Ganesha.
Durva Grass is an important offering to Ganesh.
Other important flowers offered is the Milkweed flower. (It is known as Arka ) and Shanka pushpam/conch flower.

For proper Ganesha Puja one should procure the leaves and flowers of twenty-one different plants, trees and shrubs. This is called Ekavimshati Patra Puja.

Its all depends on the place u live. So u can procure which are available & perform puja with bhakti that what matters.

Bilva is the bael tree. Its fruit, flowers and leaves are all sacred to Shiva (Bilwa leaves, which have to be a stalk with three leaves)

    For Lord Shiva

Wish U ALL A VERY HAPPY MAHASHIVARATHRI

Bilva is the bael tree. Its fruit, flowers and leaves are all sacred to Shiva, liberation's summit. Planting Aegle marmelos trees around home or temple is sanctifying, as is worshiping a Linga with bilva leaves and water.

    Fruits:
Datura fruit: (to offer during puja, NOT for Naivedya or to be eaten)

Wood Apple - bilva tree fruit (must)

JUJUBE fruit (red date) - as it is symbolic of longevity and gratification of desires.

other fruits: small-sized bananas, coconut, berries etc

Flowers :Datura, Milkweed Pearls (aakanda), Aparajita

    Six different dravyas Abhisheka:

    • • Milk is for the blessing of purity and piousness. (Unboiled)
    • • Yogurt is for prosperity and progeny.
    • • Honey is for sweet speech.
    • • Ghee is for victory.
    • • Sugar is for happiness.
    • • Water is for purity. (Ganga Jal)

Even tender coconut water can also be used fro abhishekam

Use Rudraksha-Maala for chanting Shiva's naamas or "Om Namah Shivaaya" (28/108 times)

    Hi ALl,

Regardless of the name of gods and godess, White flowers are best(uttamam) for puja.Rest of the colors like red, yellow, orange, green are good(madhyamam).Black color flowers are not good(adhamam) for puja.

    Thanks
    Sandy
