    playgroup for 18 month old

    Hi

Can u suggest me any good playgroups for my 18 month old DD. Many places I have seen are enrolling kids born in 2007. I am basically looking for a playgroup where she can go for about 2 hours daily. Any good suggestions or ideas....

    Thanks..

    hello kma

there r many options for playgroups i know r:

    Communityclub playgroups
any playgroup near to ur house
    PAP
    Appletree etc.

ur toddler can join palygroup as the playgroup admission requirement is 18 months atleast and i guess every playgroup have different times like 1 hr/1.5 hr/2 hrs /3 hrs.

    Local schools or Indian Schools?

    Hi everyone,
For the past few weeks,I'm trying to find /decide a good school for my 3 year old daughter in the East Coast area.Other than 1 or 2 generic answers,I havent got any specific details like which school is good etc ..Maybe my queries are not phrased in a way that I get the expected answer.
So,I'm trying once again..this time I want to know how many of your preschoolers are in Indian and how many in local schools?
If in local preschools, could you share your experiences? The ones I visited ,I'm not getting the good vibes. Some mothers know instinctively whats right for their child...i'm afraid I dont!! Having gone through a not so good experience reg school before,I would request you all to give me advice,as I dont know anyone here who could guide me..please!

    preschool queries

    Hi all,

Pls help me solve my queries on school admissions in singapore.

My son is june 2007 born. At present he is in a playgroup.. I came to know that local school admit children into nursery only after they complete 3 years of age as of jan 1st...

So it means that my son can be enrolled only in jan 2011 for nursery even if he completes 3 years in june 2010. So he will have to waste 6 months... On the other hand in indian schools like DPS, they take in for nursey when the child has completed 2.5 years as of march... (their academic year is from march to apr). that means he is eligible for Nursery in april 2010 itself if in indian schools...

Admission- DPSIS - Service Before Self

pls let me know if my above understanding is right..

Now comes my dilemma...As DPS is little far from my place, I am not comfortable sending him that far so early... I would like to know whether i can make him go to playgroup the rest of the year (whole of 2010)and then enroll him directly in K1 in DPS in apr 2011 as he would have completed 3 1/2 years and he is eligible for K1 in DPS, without going through N1. Is age alone a factor or they would say that he has to study N1 to go to K1..

If this is not allowed, pls suggest me on how to tackle this..

sorry for the very long post... thanks for your patience..

    Regards,
    sukanya

    Re: preschool queries

    Hi Sukanya,
I really dont think you'll have a problem getting your child admitted into DPS at 3.5 yrs. When I enquired for my daughter recently, she was at that age only. They were fine with giving her admission, even though she hadn't attended N1.In fact,my daughter hadnt been attending school for a few months ,as we were in the process of moving here.Hope this helps a bit.

    Re: preschool queries

    Hi Sukanya,
As far as I know, there's absolutely no problem in getting admission in DPS directly in K1, without going for N1. Agewise, your son will be 31/2. So, getting admission in K1 in DPS is not at all a problem since he has gone to playschool before that.

    Latha
