    Re: C-section Delivery.

    Hello Pinky,

Shree has explained very well the procedure in US. My case is slightly different. I had all my check-ups in Germany until 28th week and then flew to India. But my record from India is not very clear but since they had most of it done here it is easier for me this time. My delivery report is just one page and head or tail can't be made out of it. But as Shree says my c-section is horizontal both outside n inside so I've more chance of going into normal labour. In Germany too we can make the choice of c-section or normal; I've opted for the latter. I have thrombosis risk so for me normal is better!

And also in Germany they understand if I don't have clear medical records. I only will have to repeat all tests and go for more ultrasounds. And unlike US I choose and consult with a gyn directly and not through my general doctor. I don't need any reference here to see a specialist. I think this problem is there in US and UK.

I don't know what the TSH level means. I assume if it's something serious then your gyn herself should recommend some supplements or some treatment. During pregnancy there are many blood factors that go above and below normal levels. Did she ask you to see your house doctor on this aspect particularly? May be you should explain to your gyn that she's refusing to treat you.

As for the fear factor, even I'm having sleepless nights thinking about my delivery:) First time I didn't know what will happen, about the pain etc., so i was very cool, enjoying my time with family. This time i get unnecessary fears that something might go wrong, who will take care of my son etc., But I'm sure once I'm in the labour room I'll get the strength somehow:)

    take care!
    Latha

    Re: C-section Delivery.

    Dear Latha,

As you said Shree gave me a nice inf. here in US. Reg. my TSH level, I find it in Internet that it varies in Pregnancy.I need to call my family physician abt her view where to get treated....Yes, my gynec asked to me to visit family physician to treat for this faxing my blood result to her.....I feel like they r playing ball with us throwing here n there....anyway this problem will end by next week...let me hope for the best....

Then, Don't worry abt ur delivery though I'm in same phase too....When we near the labour time, we'll excited to c the baby and to get the baby out....From your words for my posts, I feel u r confident and bold....All The Best.....R u in India now?

Do you the gender of ur baby?Name selected? Have a nice time.....

    Tc..Bye,
    Pinky....

    Re: C-section Delivery.

Hi, It's not necessary to have a C section delivery if you first baby was from one. A normal delivery is completely possible. But I guess, the normal delivery, you will have to deal with labor pain. But since you are in the US, they might be able to make this way too easier for you. Plus, if you had a C-section delivery, as you probably know by experience, you might have to be in bed for a long time.

    Hey SSF

You seem pretty active from what you described. I have a 16 month old too and I know how much work is involved in just taking care of a toddler. And if u are also doing household work then I think you are fine. Just walk slowly on the threadmill if you get time but don't stress about it. All the best ... enjoy ur pregnancy :)

    Re: C-section Delivery.

    Dear Pinky,

Yes, i had all my reports when i came to US. But later i requested my inlaws to talk to my Indian doctor and findout how was the incission from inside. But didnot get the answer. I think the problem was my indian doc didnot get what our question was.

I have two daughters. My Parents were stuck with few things in India and they couldnot come to US during my delivery and so my In-laws were here to help me.

    Take care
    Shree.

    Re: C-section Delivery.

    Dear Pinky,

I forgot to write this. I know one lady here. She delivered a baby girl last week. Her first delivery was a C-section in India, and she has a son and she was very very eagerly waiting to go on labor and wanted to have vaginal delivery and her wish came true. I have not met her yet. but to the extent i know she didnot have any other problems or complications.

But when it came to recovery post delivery I feel i recovered early in US.
Don't be stressed thinking too much about delivery. I feel you and your husband should talk to your Gynec about the pros and cons about both delivery options and decide accordingly.

By the way when is your due date? Did you get to know the gender? If you know start shortlisting the names from now on. Is someone coming from India to help you?

    bye
    Shree.

    Re: 26 weeks pregnant

General advice is to get 20-30 mins of activity per day. Since you are doing housework and taking care of a kid, I am sure you are active enough. If you do want to use the treadmill, you can walk at the rate of 2-3 miles per hour but make sure your heart-rate is not more than 120.

I generally walk 15 mins after each meal, but I don't do half as much housework as you or take care of a kid.

    Re: 26 weeks pregnant

    Hi SSF,

I'm surprised you're calling yourself lazy with a child:) I have a 3 year old and pregnant with our second child (due anytime) and not getting enough rest. My first one was also born in India and this time I'm delivering in Germany. Actually I had so much work, running around that in between my doctor advised bed rest.

Vaccuming also can be back-breaking. If you're comparing it with sweeping floor with broom then try if you can change the length of the vaccum handle so you bend anyways to clean.

I go out for walks and max 30 minutes. Not sure about treadmill though.

Good luck with your pregnancy:) Latha
