I have tried this many times and every time they are crispy & delicious. Peel potato and then with a potato slicer cut thin circles. On a microwave safe plate put butter paper and then lay the potato slices in a single layer. Microwave for 4-5 minutes depending on your microwave. I stop at 3 min and turn them. They come out crispy . You can season them before microwaving with salt & chilli pwd.

The same can be done in a regular oven also, maybe it takes a bit longer time, maybe half an hour, you turn both sides.
