New immigrants

Hi we are new Indian immigrants immigrating from middle east this April i have one daughter aged 12 our priority is child education, nice neighborhood and activity's for child job will follow after few months.
The practical approach is that to find a job and then look for the best school in the neighborhood and then pick up the house. my situation is slightly different as my husband has only three weeks to make us comfortable and he might have to go back to current location.
Please note we would be landing in middle of the school session April hence we would only think about job in the next session (Sept) for now priority is a Good neighborhood and education
I may take some time to start working as i had some break in my carrier and I would only restart once my child settles in , and I gain some Canadian experience & Education .
After lots of research we narrowed down on North York as option due to connectivity and location as some of the friend recommended bay view middle school as a good school and nice neighborhood any suggestions which are other good schools and neighborhood in the north york area any recommendations for short stay accommodations in and around that area ?
I know that the best option is to see it yourself and take a call but wanted to take opinion
on a serious note I would appreciate your suggestions with name of the area and middle schools if possible .

I would like to hear from you. You must have landed in Canada. We too are planning to leave kwt beginning of 2013 to Canada. My daughter too is aged 12.Please let me know about the schools, job,best location to settle down etc.
