i was trying to make some chicken biriyani... after marinating the chicken, i boiled the chiken for 10 mins in microwave before adding it to the rice and boiling it.. but even after the rice is cooked, i still see the chicken is still little raw with the chicken smell on it, not fried completely. how to prevent this...what is the mistake i did..
Hi First of all make sure that chicken is well marinated.U can marinate it for even 5_6 hours also I dont know the marination u used but more u marinate the easier it is to cook. In microwave make sure that u microwave the chicken at high for atleast 15 minutes(did u slit the chicken well before marination?)then add all ingredients. On gas stove lightly fry the marinated chicken add the spices and other ingredients and now add the rice (try making it in a big botton pan)cover and cook as we cook the rice. The end product as I see u making is chicken pulao not Biryani. You can scout youtube(manjula's kithchen or like) for good illustration
Hello, Please watch the video demonstration on vahrevah.com, wonderfully explained and demonstrated by chef Sanjay Thumma
Hi, I marinate the chicken with turmeric, salt, chilli powder for 15 -20 minutes. Then i shallow fry it on gas stove along with 1-2 slit green chillies. Then you can carry on with your methods. The raw smell goes away when i fry the chicken. It works for me! Try it out.

I want to share to share types of biryani that can be cooked on stove top Biryani can be prepared in 2 types.kachi ( raw meat cooked with 75% cooked rice ) and pakki ( rice and meat are half cooked and layered ). Marination : you can marinate chicken overnite in the fridge.or atleast 4 hrs.for dum biryani if you marinate overnite you get best biryani. Preparation : dum biryani is little hard to make for first time makers.and pakki biryani anyone can prepare it. I can share the procedure if you want.i cant give measurements bcos i dont measure them.i suit it according to my tastebuds. Hope this helps
