Check grain of the fabric..spread the fabric on a table. Selvedges should be parallel to the sides of the table top.If not straighten the grain.Pull fabric on bias in direction.(you must have seen dhobis pulling starched saris before ironing)By doing so cross wise threads will be at right angles to lengthwise threads.Thenstraighten the grain of the fabric by pulling first crosswise thread which runs from selvedge to selvedge.cut along the thread line. If this does not help another method is to draw a perpendicular line to the selvedge and then draw the draft. If you are a beginner it is better to prepare a paper draft and then cut the fabric.

You could pin all the layers of the fabric you are folding and cutting along the outline before cutting. This helps prevent the layers from sliding off and getting cut evenly. I hope you are able to follow me!

artvani's right but some clothe are not perfect so just try to pull a thread lengthwise near the selvedge and follow this line to draft and while placing the paper draft try to kee the draft perpendicular to this line
