    Significance of 108 / 1008 has been elaborately discussed in many sites...

    But to tell you in short form -
    27 natchatras, Each natchatras 4 paadams
    27 multiplied by 4 = 108

    So in order to pacify all the adidevathas of all the natchatras and its devathas
    mantras are asked to chant for 108...

    Dear sir

    Pls could clarify my doubt on the following

    1) wht is the diff going around Ganesha inside temple vs Ganesha that is under a bodhi sat a tree

    2) In normal temple there is navagraha inside it, wht is the rule around praying to this navagraha for pregnant ladies

    3) in north during prayer they cover the head but south we don't, why we don't cover in south.

    Replies

    1) Going around Ganesha temple is termed for goodness..and around a Bodhi tree is meant for health and progeny issues.

    2) Good question, but wrong thing.....
    As far as pregnant ladies are concerned, it is not advisable to go around Navagraha in the temple as all the 9 planets will hold them for 9 months one bye one (which is 9 months pregnancy, and 10 month baby out)...

    Dear Sir,

    Last Friday, I was given a Sree Yanthram by one of my friends. I received this on the day of Aadi-puram, when I had done "maa-vilakku" at home and I was very thrilled to have got it.

    Is there any specific pooja or sloka that I should be doing for this Yanthram ? I understand that you need a Guru's initiation to do elaborate poojas & recite slokas for the Yanthram.

    Currently, I follow the below procedure :

    In the mornings, I offer flowers to all the Gods and the Yanthram, during my regular prayers.
    In the evening, I offer little bit of kumkum to our Kulaidevam (Devi) and Sree Yanthram, after reciting Lalitha Sahasranama (I hold a small plate with kumkum in my hand while reciting LS).

    Is this ok ? Would appreciate your guidance on this.

    greetings sir,
    i am going through lot of troubles in my life now, i am 32 yrs old still unmarried, i am praying to god but some circumstances that happening in temple make me to worry,
    unfortunately while i was doing oil bath for lord murugan his vel fell down and lamp was gone (it was not broken but flame went out)
    on the same day his prasad fell down accidentatlly
    when i am trying to speak myself that gud things will happen to me or what will happen to my life ? lights are going off.
    today while praying to bhariavar, i pray to him that so many bad things are happening to me by that time the flower which i kept in his head fall down before the idol, really feeling bad and getting hurt more, please tell me what these symbols are meaning?

    Go to a nearby temple and lit ghee lamp and pray.
    Believe in God and do it. Will be fine.
