    hi all,
    Golu is like a get together where we can expose and share our creativity and ideas. we keep it with some themes every year.
    This year other than arranging the dolls in 5 steps, we arranged

    • motherhood - we collected bird, animals and human being dolls with their young ones and potrayed that God created mothers since he cant be everywhere.

    • 3 lokas-vaikundam,kailayam and brahma logam. we used cotton, aluminium foil for creating the setup of paarkadal and himalayas
    • different shops for books, furniture, musical instruments and cds, dresses,stationeries, sports goods, lamps and emporiums too.we collected miniatures needed for all these shops. one example could be we took images of books cropped and resized to similar size and pasted in cartons so that it would look like books.
    • we made different pookalams and rangolis. we not only used real flowers and rangoli for this purpose but also plastic flowers, chamkis and stones for decorating it.
    • we tried aarathi plates - decoration in thermocol plates.

    wow... nice presentation...

    loved India map.. in fact, believe me, i thought of doing the map using shells... but due to lack of time, just couldn't do it...any way nice to see what i thought..

    kudos to your daughter & i loved the Ganesh too... just loved it...:thumbsup

    Navaratri contest

    Hai all ,today only I joined IL.
    My friend Srimathi Premchands golu contains 50000 dolls.It took 15 days to arrange them.The photos are published in Dinamalar ,Pondytimes and in Anandha vikatan ,En vikatan (Last week issue)All local Tv channels broadcasted it.As i was told by another friend i am posting these photos for competition.I am not posting for prize,but we all want to give credit for the sufferings to collect all bommais.

    This time I made Ucchip pillaiyar kovil,Railway station and lakshmi saraswathy and Durga by using Kuthuvilakku.since i ve to post 5 photos i ll post others in other forum.
