I can't get enough of this devotional song that teaches the raw truth about human life. Gora Kumbara (Gora, the potter) was a part of the Varkari movement. Varkari - Wikipedia

    Movie: Bhakta Kumbara [1974]
    Music Label: Universal Music
    Music: G. K. Venkatesh
    Lyrics: Hunsur Krishnamurthy
    Singer: P. B. Sreenivas
    Actor: Raj Kumar

    Check out the lyrics here..

    Para Thatvavanu Balla Panditanu Naanalla
I a not a scholar in metaphysics or scriptures
    Harinaamavoondulidu Nanagenu Thilidillaa
Apart from the name of Hari, I don't know anything
    Nanagenu Thilidillaa
    I don't know anything

    Maanava Dehavu Moole Maamsada Thadike

O man! The body is a framework of flesh and bones
    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike
Man is a bag of flesh and bones
    Idara Melide Togalina Hodike
Upon this is a cover of skin
    Tumbide Olage Kaamaadi Bayake
Inside it is lust and greed
    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike
Man is a bag of flesh and bones

    Nava Maasagalu Hoolasali Kaledu..
After spending nine months in the mucky womb
    Nava Randhragala Kaledu Beledu
    you develop the nine orifices
    Bandide Bhuvige Ee Nara Gombe
You arrive on this earth as a human being
    Nambalu Enide Saubhaagyavende
What is there for you to be proud of

    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike

Man is a bag of flesh and bones
    Dehavoo Moole Maamsada Thadike
the body is a bag of flesh and bones

    Usiraaduva Thanaka Naanu Nanademba Mamakaara

Till there is breath, you are possessive about things
    Nintha Marugalige Masanade Samskara
The moment the breath stops the body is discarded in the grave
    Mannali Berethu Mellage Kolethu
The body gets destroyed and mixes with the soil
    Mugiyuva Dehake Vyaamohaveke
Why do you love such a body

    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike

Man is a bag of flesh and bones
    Dehavoo Moole Maamsada Thadike
The body is a bag of flesh and bones

    Baruvaaga Betthale Hoguvaaga Betthale

You come empty-handed and go empty-handed
    Bandu Hoguva Naduve Bari Katthale
In between, you live in darkness
    Bhaktiya Belaku Baalige Beku
You need the light of devotion
    Mukthige Vittalana Kondaadabeku
Simply pray to Vittala for salvation

    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike
    Dehavoo Moole Maamsada Thadike
    Idara Melide Togalina Hodike
    Tumbide Olage Kaamaadi Bayake
    Maanava Moole Maamsada Thadike

    (2nd paragraph repeated)

    Vittalaaa Vittalaaa Paanduranga Vittalaa |4|
    Paanduranga Vittalaa |3|

"Hang Massive" perform new age music, inspired by the teachings of Balancedview. I found their music in 2012 when I had a chance to watch their performance live. Ever since they have been a personal favorite.

    Tu Kahaan Main Kahaan

Kripa Drishti Mujh Pe Bhi Ho Maharaja
    An-Ginat Chintaon Ne Ghera
Aastha Hai Jo Vyatha Hai Wo Harega Tu
Sun Meri Bhi Koi Na Mera
    Tu Kuja Man Kuja
    Tu Kuja Man Kuja
    Tu Kahan Main Kahaan
    Tu Kahaan Main Kahan
    Hain Bhay Bhyankar
    Path Mein Kankar Maharaja
Mujh Adham Se Kyon Tune Mukh Phera
Main Dharaatal Se Pukaarun Haath De Apna
Sun Meri Bhi Koi Na Mera
    Nirdhanon Ka Dheer Tu Hai

Beloveds from the Middle East #2. :innocent:

For anyone interested... Here is another favorite - "The Persian Nightingale"- legendary Shahram Nazeri.

Maestro of Iranian Classical and Sufi, the first vocalist to introduce Rumi's poetries in Persian and Kurd music.

Nazeri's rendition of a similar poem by Rumi in Farsi, orchestrated by National Philharmonic, Ukraine.

    Track: Sheyda Shodam (Enchanted I)
Album: The Passion of Rumi (Spotify Link)

    Lyrics rough translation:

    Peyda shodam
    (I became apparent)

    Peydaye naa-peyda shodam
    (I became an inapparent)

    Sheyda shodam
    (I became infatuated)

    Man ou bodam
    (I was him)

    Man ou shodam
    (I became him)

    Ba ou bodam
    (I was with him)

    Bi ou shodam
    (I lost him)

Dar eshghe ou chon ou shodam
(In his love, I became like him)

Zin rou chonin bi sou shodam
(For this, I am with no face anymore.)

    ...

    Track: Eternity.
Album: Rumi Symphony Project by Hafez Nazeri. (Spotify Link)

    Hope you enjoy. :relaxed:

I got Shida I became Shida
I got Shida I became Shida

    I found
    I did not find

I got Shida I became Shida
I got Shida I became Shida

    I found
    I take him

    I got him
    I take him

    I got him
    With her
    I got him off

In her love, I became like him
    I got so sad

In her love, I became like him
I got Shida I became Shida

I got Shida I became Shida
I got Shida I became Shida
I got Shida I became Shida

I watched an old Tamil classic last night, "Agasthya(r)", a film about the first Siddha(r) and his contributions to Tamil culture and literature. He is among the 18 great Tamil siddha(r)s, who offered their spiritual realizations in profound poetic (short) verses, the compositions are called "Siddhar Padalgal" (Poems of Siddhas).

Here is a poem by 'Kudhambhai' Siddha(r) about "the eternal vastness, a divinity that cannot be contained nor destroyed, and throbs within each of us" - musically rendered by Satguru's Isha foundation.

Deep! I'm not sure if the essence is entirely captured in the translation.

    Brahmam

That which is beyond all physical,
    see it resonating within you.

As you cannot see the vast space,
so can you not see it.

See it in the emptiness as that-which- is-not.

When you can’t contain its vastness,
what is the use of your knowledge?

    That which is indestructible,
    that which permeates everything,
    that is the Brahmam!

    Goosebumps. :touched:
