MyBlog -55 (Amusing facts that I could recollect...)

When I was a kid ,my brother gifted me a book on my birthday called : "101 amazing facts". This morning I was sitting ideally when my brother called up ...while chitchatting he reminded me about this book and said that he has gifted a similar kind of book to his 11 year old son and was happy to see his son glued n excited about the book . This conversation compelled me to recall what I read back then and this is what I could recollect...there were many more indeed Penning down little amusing facts that are still lingering in my memory lane...

1) The word "queue" is the only word in the English language that is still pronounced the same way even when each letter is chopped off from it.
Queue -> Queu -> Que -> Qu -> Q
2) "Rhythm" is the longest English word without a vowel.
3) There is a city called Rome on every continent.
4) Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails.
5) It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. Also when we sneeze ,the whole of our body functions stop for the moment.
6) Earth is the only planet not named after a god.
7) Months that begin on a Sunday will always have a "Friday the 13th."
8) A cockroach can live several weeks with its head cut off!
9) Human thigh bones are stronger than concrete. OOh this fact scares me coz few years back I fractured my thigh bone in an accident, it took me 6 months to recover...imagine how strong the impact was.
10)STRESSED backwards is DESSERTS.
