om shri ganeshaye namah! hi ilsBow This is the first time that i'm writing in this blog and GOD gave me a reason. I had gone touring, and i'm sure not many would have heard of these religious places. first one is the jain tirtha of Nakoda near Balotra and the second one is called Sati mata temple/ Vridavan dhaam in Pachpadra. both these places are in the Barmer distt of Rajasthan, India. Nakoda tirtha has beautiful temples on a foothill, with exequisite marble work all over, as is generally the style of the jain temples. The white marble work looked serene with the backdrop of hills.Work is still on for more temples. The visit was tranquilizing and worth the effort. The city of Balotra is also famous for its bedsheet printing work as Barmer, though the designs are different with golden paints:drool.Yes i was tempted, but no i did not buy. How i stopped myself? Let me assure you all it was difficult. Next we went to a place called Pachpadra. There is an old lady in the Sati Mata Temple. The story is that she stopped eating food in her forties, i.e, in 1976. Some years after that she stopped drinking milk, and then she was only on water. But since many years, she stopped water intake too. It indeed is a miracle,...BHAKTI KI SHAKTI...,one can say.She stays in a room and twice daily gives darshan. There is bhajan-kirtan all the time. We arrived in the temple at around 3.30 p.m. and came to know that the darshan time was 5.30 p.m. Bhajans were being sung, and the two hours we were there they did not cease. The regular devotees to the temple made us feel welcome. They gave us small copies of Geeta, and made space for us to sit in the front as we were there for darshans.Around 4.30 p.m. Geeta recitations started and reached a crecendo by the time the doors opened for darshan. She was sitting with folded hands, and a smile. The atmosphere was tingling with positivity which I can feel down my spine even now when I write this. I'm not real computer savvy or I would have posted a copy of her photo. We left the temple and proceeded towards Jodhpur . About that some other time.Computer Typing for now bye n njoy may God bless this world OM SHANTI SHANTI muzna
