My new Skipping Rope

    Hey all,

    For the past one month I did not even jog for 40 mts.. So I want to restart my exercise routing... Back to be on track.. You obviously know wat i did.. i bought a skipping rope few minutes bacck... Being new to this.. Wanted to know how effectively it can be done.. Does anyone have inputs ?

    I know it would be painful for the first day.. but tell me how should i start with and how many minutes/jumps ?

    Diligent practicers please advice...

    I am at the moment doing Zumba for 30 mins everday. I am seeing inch loss rather than weight loss, though happy about that would like to shed few pounds to reach a healthy weight

    All the best with your workout with the new skipping rope. :thumbsup

    Initially do by counting as many you can do with ease and without much exhaustion. That depends upon your capability.

    I myself started with 50 skips initially (as i could do that much only) :hide: and go on increasing 50 more everyweek. I found myself accustomed after a month (4 weeks ) and later on i started increasing by 100 everyweek and now i am doing 1000 skips daily ( it tooks me 20 - 25 min. approx.)

    So the initial start depends upon your body stamina. If you can do upto 100 or 150 you can go for it and slowly go on increasing by 50 /100 skips every week according to ease and can increase upto 2000 or for an hour whichever you like.

    Hi Priya,

    I am very happy for that. Basically I am very lazy to do exercises but I got inspired seeing my husband (he does 3000 skips daily in 20-25min.). Seeing him i also started.
