my new painting..mysore style..vishnu with consorts

    hi ,:hiya
    thanks for ur appreciatve words.
    it is also like tanjore painting, we do the jesso work using the chalk lime in a mehendi cone, hence the jesso work is delicate in mysore style.the gold leaf used is also delicate not sturdy as in tanjore style where we can cut it with scissors.here the gold foil is very thin which gets blown away even with a wisp of air!! so i do the gold work with the fans switched off and the windows closed in my house!:) it is mainly of thin consistency like the silver foil that is used in decorating sweets..hope u get the idea.

    in mysore style the central figures meaning the gods are portrayed well with great details given to the facial features, where as the jewellry part is muted .where as the jewellry part is enhanced in tanjore style.

    this style appeals to people who like to do detail delicate gesso work.
    hope i have given info that helps.

    my next project is rama darbar. which will probably be ready by january.will upload the pics when it is done.
