My Baby Girl - Jackie Jagadhambha

Previous birth’s bond
Brought us together
Youngest of the litter
With beautiful black shiny fur
Cute,cuddly, warm and friendly.

Plays fetch with the tennis ball
For hours together,
Runs like a cheetah on open fields,
Happy to swim and play in the river,
Loves to play with squeaky toys forever.

Smart and intelligent,
Comprehends three languages
(Tamil, Telugu and English)
Conquers everyone's heart
With her unconditional love
Very possessive of each one in the family
No one can receive a hug in front of her
Only she can get a hug from each one of us!

She is truly a wonderful daughter,
Who gives me company when I cook
Gives me a sorry look
To win over me for few pieces of crumbs
Greedily crunches and munches
All the vegetables and fruits
That I feed her.
During the night
Though fast asleep, wakes up
Listening to the noise of the vessels
And comes and lies down on the kitchen mat
Until I finish my chore in the kitchen.

Also keeps my husband company
Until he finishes his work
On the computer and switches off the TV
Promptly she gets up and goes to sleep in her crate.

Though restless to have her breakfast on weekdays
Patiently awaits during weekends
While we take extra time to sleep.

Demands food from mom
Takes liberty with dad
By doing her job on walks
Loves her older brother the most
And treats him in a special way
Licking,biting and gnawing him
Treating him like a baby
And making all funny noises
Exactly like we speak to our babies
Let's the younger brother
Bother her, as well puts her arm
On him, expressing her love and ownership of him.
She is the most loved one in our house.

She has taught me many valuable lessons
I wish I had her before my kids
She would have trained me to be
A better mom.
