    pic1 - good compared to previous ones....a bit of more sky is required on top..as a bit more is reflecting down..
    its good anyways
    pic2 - really good.....I hope its not by luck....i suggest you try this by SLR not by point and shoot.. its a great effect called panning
    pic3 - no comments.. cool
    pic4 - good one
    pic5 - good
    pic6 - patterns... good subject...pic is nice..but is over exposed..if there is some editing software with you.. then try to reduce the brightness of the image and observe the difference...
    you will love it..

    I understand the thing about the need for symmetry. The picture does look better and more balanced.
    And thanks for telling me that. I try and read more about Panning and believe it or not, I was just super lucky. I don't have an SLR. And don't plan to buy one now. Will try to get some more on the basics for now.

    I do try photographing a lot of patterns. Will post a few more later. And I understand about the over exposure.

    Thanks for the very informative responses. I really need to learn more about all the technical stuff.
    Any recommendations about books or websites I could start with?

    @ Tanoshi , Superb shots with point and shoot ..
    You can go for bridge cameras , compact in size and budget too..I have one and need to explore :)
