muslim chicken biryani

    I think if you want to intensify the chicken flavor you should fry the chicken longer until there is some browned chicken juices in the bottom of the pan...at least that is how we approach in American cooking. Then continue and when you add the water the chicken flavor is released as the brown parts melt.

    Can i put lamb instead of chicken? I am not very fond of chicken meat.

    yeah sure . but mutton take time to cook , better precook mutton 3/4 . then same step as in chicken.

    Anyone have idea how to prepare the brijal curry that Muslims serve with Biriyani? I always like that combination but not sure of the method to prepare it.

    Hi deeplav, I like chicken biryani which my hubby cooks and I never cook chicken curry also (tried few times and it never came well and hubby cooks well :) so never attempted )

    Today for the first time I cooked chicken biryani and followed your procedure and it came very well :) Hubby liked it a lot :) so I would like to thank you, really thanks so much for posting it :)

    I bought brown basmati rice instead of white basmati by mistake :( This biryani recipe seems straightforward. Thank you! I am thinking of trying it out today. Can you tell me if the water rice ratio is same for brown basmati as well. Please.
