The Instrument Kora is made from a large pumpkin shell (sound box) and has 21 strings. It is played by both hands. The hands are anchored to two wood pegs, the the strings are strummed with just each thumb. Sort of like playing a smartphone game. Kora (an instrument with origins in Mali) is often heard at the Timbuktu music festivals in Mali. Here is a fusion concert: Tabla is obviously under employed in this work.
