    Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Joburg and am looking forward to meet some indians and make some friends.

Hubs got some offer from L&T for long term project in Johannesburg, SA. Confused whether or not to accept the offer. Is R50K is sufficient for a family of 3 to have a commfortable living thr. I heard there is one Indian school there, is it CBSE? How safe is this place now?

    Hi RieRie

I am here in Joburg for past 2yrs.I have 2kids.My daughter is studying in 4th Grade. My son is attending a pre school. As of now I did not find any CBSE schools.Where are u planning to stay in Joburg? In which place is ur hubby's office located?50K should be comfortable for a family of 3 but it totally depends on the area u choose to live in.With my experience I can tell u that Joburg is safe as long as u avoid late night drive in certain areas.
U can PM me if u need any further information

    .
My kid is 5 year old just worried about the schooling part.
Please, suggest on some good pre school available in park town.
If possible please pass on the school names.

Are there any Indian community in park town ?

SA is amazingly web connected........just google the area you are going to stay & you will find lots of info about it schools, supermarkets ,hospitals............
just remember that schooling here is one year behind India...........they will take only a child who is 6 yrs old by 1st Jan 2014 in class 1 ,otherwise the child goes to Kindergarten.

Hi , you have to pay 25% cut off per tax , here you should have medical aid that is depends on your policy from 600 to 800 zar , it is safe but not every where , education is costly here , analysis your self and step forward
