Since last evening my son is crying and not able to eat or drink anything. He has mouth ulcers which is on the tongue and the inner mouth area.

He is in pain when he drinks milk or water too. today have sent curd rice for his lunch at creche. not sure if he will be able to eat it

Any suggestions of how to tackle this, please share.

    hello

    how old is he?

you could give him manathakkali juice
diluted say 50 ml or so
    use maasikkai ( available in
    nattu marunthu kadai)
make a paste and apply on inner side
    of the mouth
    also on the tongue
clear constipation which is the main reason
    for this problem
apply castor oil on the stomach
    at night
plenty of plain cold water for drinking
i just noticed you are not in india....dont know if you can get manathakkali juice or tender coconut water...maybe you can give him cucumber juice or carrot juice or white pumkin juice if it is available.
    clearing constipation is a must....
applying castor oil on the stomach (generously) will bring down the mouth ulcers almost immediately but if constipation continues then the mouth ulcers may persist
if castor oil not available then til/sesame oil
    hope this helps

Thank you Sathya for the immediate response. He is 3 years old now.

Yes, we are not in India, so manathakali juice is not available.

But as you suggested, will try the castor oil, coconut juice (may be I can get it)
and masikkai , i do have stock at home. thanks for all the tips

My observation of this problem: usually those sores are a common form of herpes infection. It can get triggered or exascerbated by change in body pH due to diet or stress (or initial infection). Try and feed him foods that will bring his body out of the more acidic level. Stop feeding any tomato and also peppers of any sort (capsicum, chilli, etc). If you eat non veg then give some boiled chicken. The curd rice sounds like a good choice.

    thank you tashidelek
My MIL told me the same thing over the weekend.

We got the bonjela gel for kids from the chemists and applied it. It is getting better and giving curd rice only over the weekend.

His urine seems very yellow today, a bit concerned now. Will see how he is in the evening
