    No problem, you can use the big egg plant for this. But be careful while stiring, It should not become like a paste.:-D

    1. I am looking for recipe for kothamalli virai podi and kariveppilai podi
    2. Recipes using jaggery (have lotsa but dunno what to doWitsend)

    Thanks for your feed back and complements. I have already give these recipes. You have to search for them. Ok no problem I have given the links here. If you use search button you will get all these recipes on your screen.

    3. There are many items we can prepare with jaggery. Only thing you must like the taste. You can make any payasam with jaggery and you just use jaggery instead of sugar.and increase the quantity of jaggery. And you can make pori oorundai and ground nut oorundai with that. Let me put those recipes. Till that you can prepare the following items with jaggery. all the best.

    Thiruvadirai Kali and Kuttu

    Sweet Dosa : 12

    Sweet Chips

    Yummy Kheers and Payasams

    Black Udad Sundal - Sweet

    Appam

    Sugiyan / Suyan

    Thiratu pal (1)

    Aval/Poha Bisi Bela Bath

    Ingredients:

    1 cup thur dal
    1 cup Thick Aval (Poha/beaten rice )

    2 sp Tamarind Paste
    2 - 3 sp Bisi bela bath powder
    1 cup Mixture of vegetables
    (Capsicum,Potato,Beans,Peas,Onion etc..)cut to medium size

    1 tab sp ground nut
    Turmeric 1 tsp
    Oil / ghee 2 tbsp
    Mustard seeds

    Curry leaves
    Salt

    Method:

    Cook thur dal and ground nut.
    Wash and Soak poha for just 10 min.
    In a pan make seasoning with mustard seeds, turmeric powder and curry leaves.
    Fry onions and other veg in that.
    Now add a cup of water in that and let the veg. cook.
    Add tamarind paste and salt in that.
    Mix well and add bisi bela powder in that.
    Mix well and bring it to a boil.
    Now add cooked thur dal and soaked aval. ( poha)
    Add 2 sp ghee in that and mix well.
    Bring to boil.
    Remove from the fire.

    Your yummy poha bisi bela is ready to serve.
    Serve with papad or potato chips.

    Note: Instead of thur dall you can use yellow moong dal.

    Aval / Poha Kesari Bath

    Ingredients:

    1/2 kg. aval (poha, beaten rice)
    1/2 kg. sugar
    1 table sp cut cashew nuts
    1 tab sp raisins
    1/2 sp cardamom powder
    1/2 tsp. saffron
    250 g. ghee.
    1 sp milk to desolve saffron strings.

    Method:

    Fry aval in 2 to 3 sp ghee and keep aside.
    Bring it to room temp.
    Now grind it as "rava" in a mixer grinder.
    Put saffron in milk and soak it.
    In the pan pour ghee and put cashew nuts and raisins.
    Now put the ground aval in that and mix well.
    Add water and cook aval.
    Now add sugar and mix well.
    Allow it to cook well and stir continuously.
    Now reduce the fire and add soaked saffron in this.
    Mix well and add cardamom powder in that.
    Again mix well and remove from the fire.

    Note: You can add chopped pineapple in this kesari. and also you can add chopped almonds at the end tomake the dish more rich and delicious.:crazy
