    Ingredients:

Methi leaves (Washed and separated from stem)-1/2 cup

    Channa Dal-1 cup

Green Mirchi-4-5; make it a paste

    Salt

    Turmeric

    2 tbsp. oil
    1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
    1 tsp. Bengal gram
    1 tsp. Black gram

    2-3 red chillies

    Method:

    • Soak the Channa dal in water until soft. Grind the channa dal in a mixie without adding much water. Ensure that the ground channa dal mixture is a little bit coarse and not a fine paste.
    • Heat oil in a saucepan. Add mustard, allow to splutter, add bengal gram, black gram, red chillies, turmeric.
    • Fry till light brown, then add green mirchi paste. Saute for sometime. Then add methi leaves (ensure that there are no stalks) and fry for sometime.
    • Now add the coarse channa dal mixture in the kadai. Add salt and keep mixing.
    • Initially it may look a bit like a paste but with heat the curry comes out in a powder form. Cook well on a low heat until it is slightly brown and it will look like powder.
    • Put a little ghee to the rice and mix this curry. It tastes delicious.
