Meprate And Spotting

I'm 33 yrs old. I got married last June. My cycle got irregular from January. My last period was on Mar 13. I took pregnancy tests, both urine and blood were negative. I consulted endo and gynecologist. I have hypothyroidism but it is under control. gyn advised to take pelvic scan. I had corpus luteum cyst in the left ovary. Can it be a cause for my delayed period? My doctor went to attend an emergency. She just asked me to take Meprate for 5 days morning and evening over phone. After I finished the course I have very light spotting and cramps in my thighs from 4th day. But flow is not there. Is it normal? When will I get my period?
