One came as though its his place, Another girl hesitated, but came. The third one stood before the mike And forgot everything, stood blank. It went on and on as those Lovely children fancied much In being someone else and chose People, their parents liked much. The Bharathis, The Shivajis, The brave Jhansi Ranis And The trees and that odd plastic piece Came to stage, making it grand. The krishnas, Prahlad and Kannappa Came too with set pieces with them. Some prayed and danced, bringing an awe From us and not one child was dim. Below them were the anxious Parents who toiled so hard, Hoping and praying that the best Should be theirs, but were quick to laud Any kid that did good on stage, Though at times a trace of envy Came and left like the third page In newspapers, and looked happy. Perhaps its good to see that many Eminent personalities on the stage. What we aren't, we wish like just any Others and simulate at some stage.
Rgs, Nice poem. Yes, would have been a pleasure meeting all great personality in the same place. Well what and how the kids perform is secondary even though there may be difference but then as you told the parents and others would enjoy it. Thanks, Vaidehi
Actually, the parents were more anxious about how their kids will perform and the children themselves were connected to the event later on, cheering any and everyone who was at the stage. It was so good to see, Vaidehi. Thanks for your like and feedback. -rgs
That is true. But anyhow, I never had such stress as far as these events go here, because they are very casual here for the kids. Well, the other stressful things for the parents here had been mostly on the exams and education aspects, which i am sure is the the same for the parents everywhere.
Dear RGS @rgsrinivasan , Don't we live a sort of dream for our children while dressing them up in the fancy dress competition as Gandhi, Nehru, VOC, Bharathi and Bharat Mata? A nice poem! Hope you enjoyed the occasion!
Hmmm... At least in that event it is not so. But you are right on the examination / education aspects and concerns for parents. I liked the kids clapping other kids on stage. Thanks again. -rgs
Well, we love to. Yes. And there was not a single negative shade that day, Suryakala Madam. Was so happy to see a bunch of Bharathis, Avvais, Krishnas, Abdul Kalams and Many trees that day. -rgs
haha...MR S., you leave it to the little tykes choice, you would see a gang of spidermans, supermans, batmans n pokemons. jokes apart, very nice attempt! I really love these competitions, though it gives me more work than my son, I love the fact that my son gets to learn a lot from these competitions than from just learning from a book. He could relate to that personality better and went on to ask so many questions for which I had to google and answer him. That said, I don't really mind how he is performing. He is so much unlike me with lots of confidence. so you know, thats why my relaxed attitude
