I tried this and it came out superb !!!!
I got this recipe from internet....Malaysian Steamed Cake !!!!!!

    Maida - 1 cup
    Sugar - 3/4 cup
Jaggery - a small piece (grated) -optional
    Eggs - 3
    Milk - 50 ml
    vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Butter (normal temp) - 1/4 cup
    Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
    Baking powder - 1/4 tsp

Beat eggs, sugar and jaggery in a mixie.

Add milk, vanilla essence and melted butter to the egg mixture and beat for a minute.

Sift maida+baking powder+baking soda. sieve twice.

To the flour add the Blended liquid batter slowly and mix well.

Transfer the whole thing to another vessel and steam it in a pressure cooker ...(like idlis) ...5 minutes in high flame and 25 min in medium/low flame. Check if there is sufficient water in the pressure cooker.

check if the cake is cooked and allow to cool it.

Becos the cake was too soft ..i grilled the steamed cake in a microwave oven. (Turn over both the sides - 2 min each)

Cut the cake to slices and serve with tea.
