Chapter 35

Parineeta turned back. It was Mahesh.

Mahesh “Hey dear, you are leaving so early.”

Pari: Oh uncle, when did you come? Sorry but I didn’t notice you.

M: I was here only with Shounak’s father. But where are you going so early?”

Parineeta reminded that she was sitting in corner for so long & waited for reception to start.

“Ummn, I was going to call my hospital but due to network problem came out.” She blurted out whatever came in mind.

“Oh, no problem then.”

That time Anushka came there. She reminded Mahesh that its time for his tablet & requested both to have food. Parineeta couldn’t deny her. Food court was on first floor. She & Adish escorted them to the food court & went back to wedding hall.

Parineeta somehow finished her food. She took everyone’s leave & came out of wedding hall, took long breath & walked till main gate of hall’s building.

Suddenly someone gently patted on her shoulders. Parineeta turned back only to find Vedant behind her. Her mind danced & liked the feeling that he is standing there in front of her.

Vedant already noticed her when magalashtakam finished but later was unable to see her anywhere as she hide herself in one corner. He saw her first time in saree & was awestruck by her beauty. When he noticed her going to lunch along with Mahesh. He decided to meet her out of wedding venue in order to avoid unnecessary gossips as there all society people & friends were present.

“Hello madam, why are you leaving even without saying a hi to me?” He asked.

Parineeta loved his innocence but how she will tell him that she hide from him?

” its not like that Vedant, I was seating far away so couldn’t notice you.” Parineeta tried for clarification.

V: “ Oh, that’s ok then .”

Vedant smiled & noticed that her lips said something else but her eyes were lying. He liked that contradiction. But he couldn’t understand why she said like that.

P: How are you?

V: very good. Hey you are meeting after so many days & we are talking here on road? Let’s go to that ice-cream shop. (He showed an ice cream parlour on opposite road with his first finger)

Parineeta nodded to yes as if she wanted to spend time with him. They started crossing the road. A car passed near to Parineeta without giving horn. Parineeta didn’t notice that, Vedant quickly clutched her hand slightly to stop her.

“Some people don’t even know how to drive?” he cursed the driver.

Parineeta felt butterflies within her with that gentle yet protective toch. They ordered two butter scotch cups. Vedant observed her calmness & comfort level she had today with him. They chatted for while. Parineeta decided something & said” I want tell you a new development about our dear friends?”

V: (with curiosity) whats that?

P: Today I noticed in couple photo sation rather I am sure that Anushka has fallen for Adish.

V: Really? But how?

P: Well, I can’t say I am sure, when I casually teased her about the same she blushed but neither accepted nor denied also.

V: I hope your words become true & now its time for Adish to realize the same. Parineeta promise me one thing as a good friend, from this moment it will remain a secret between us.

Parineeta shook hands with him for agreement. She saw time & said “Shall I leave now, you are also yet to have lunch na?”

“What to do then? You had lunch without telling me Na?” he made a fake sad face & both started laughing. “Adish must be waiting for me. You go safely. Take care”

Both waved each other & parted ways. When Vedant returned to wedding hall he saw Adish is giving him a questioning look like a police officer. He behaved as if he doen’t exist there.

That night Parineeta’s mind filled with Vedant’s thought. She caressed her palm which he hold & smiled alone. She liked the fact that he is so much caring for his friend. She remembered their first encounter & eventually how she used to get to know him. First time in life she had a good friendship with guy & wished to explore it more.

Days were passing. Pallavi was liked by all. Anushka used to hang out her in between. Her mind always longed for Adish. She decided to open heart to him & purchased a cute romantic greeting card. Inside the greeting she wrote just one line.

I am ready to be with you…… Forever

She decided to keep this letter in his wardrobe & till then kept it herself. She wanted to see his reaction upon seeing that letter.

Adish was watching TV after dinner. Suddenly Anushka’s phone rang. It was from Devki. Anushka attended the call & her face became tense.
