    I am back with my next poem and I hope its better than the first one.

    Independence day is round the corner and celebrations are waiting. Let us give a thought and think if we are really independent.

    Long awaiting liberty got at last!
    As darkness engulfed, a new nation arouse
    Midnight struck and foreigners left
    May Martyrs soul rest in peace
    Their lives they paid
    The flag unfurled, a historic day marked

    Yes, Freedom we got and dreams with hopes
    Along came the partitions and riots, disturbance they caused
    Packed to leave house born in, killed in a nation they grew up
    Sadness encroached them as another day born
    Hopes of happiness, joy still lived, and life continued

    With rejoice I open my eyes
    An independent nation I see
    Happy faces, their lightening smile
    As I grow, stories I hear, make me think
    Glad am I, born in a country free

    As I grow, I see hate and fear
    A man stabs another, a life is lost
    A man robs another, a state of grief
    Hate and fear rules the heart
    I look around to find a life of love

    As I grow I see greedy men
    Leading us with money in mind
    To serve people, we elect
    Their safe hands turn dirty as they rule
    I look around to find a soul to save

    As I grow I see jealousy, anger, cold
    Houses burnt and fountains of blood
    I see them all with tears in eyes
    Hate and fear, I see beside
    Greedy men, jealous with anger

    I turn to God to stop this all
    Give us nation with people happy, I plead
    I gave you "Love", you turned to "Hate", HE tells
    I wished you "Prosper", it made you "Greedy", HE tells
    Help each other to create Love, HE tells and blesses

    I look for help to find them busy
    I call and shout "Lets Live and Let live"
    Lets come together to rise the nation great
    Lets build the dream we saw
    Still long awaiting the liberty we need!

    i would seriously recommend these verses to be included in our children's' syllabus-very beautiful moments of Independence....to the present days captured so poignantly!!!!

    You have taken a very good subject apt for the coming Independence Day...This poem shows improvement I would like to make small suggestion
    "Help each other, HE tells and leaves"
    IMHO I think you could leave out the word leaves here because He is constantly guiding us... You could write it as...
    "Help each other Love each Other He Tells
    All your owes Dissolve into nothing...."

    Blog poetess lovelyframed poetic lines. very truly mentioned we are all longing for love, highly valuable life keep and make others happy for all we need blessings and prosperity . If human treat others as human surely LIBERTY WILL COME WITH SMILE SURE DEAR FRIEND.
