When anything comes in syrup form there is a fair chance of sugar syrup

    additions.

But dont know abt Lions date syrup.

    Dear Hemadurga

I love my Lion Dates Syrup and as far as my knowledge goes, there is no added sugar in it. I normally have it with a cup of milk, although they say that drinking it with milk is not good as milk inhibits iron absorption. I am not really sure though and would like to find out.

If you are worried about bottled/processed food, try this tip which I got from here on IL. Soak dates in luke warm milk and crush it well. Add that to cereals maybe and will help. Soaking in luke warm water and then blending it is also fine.

    Lion Honey...........I dunno, sorry!

oops i am sorry i missed my own thread that i started !!:bonk

thanks all of you for your replies..

in the ad they show mixing date syrup with milk..so i also doing that..but never knew that iron absorption will be hindered !!

i am checking my under my eyes every week and still not able to see it red..it is only light pink !! so maybe i am still anemic because of this mistake ???

knottoshare - i like your suggestion of mixing soaked dates into cereal( and also your signature - Aaal iz welll )... will try this method finishing my big jar of Lion date syrup that I purchased with lot of hope !!

    Hi Hemadurga,

I second Shakambari and have no idea about Lion dates and syrup.

Date syrup can be used instead of honey on bread or toast, instead of maple syrup on pancakes, as an ice cream topping.

    :)

    hi rehana,
    thanks for the link....

i was always having this doubt about lion honey because there used thick sediment if i leave the bottle untouched for few months.... moreover here is India there are selling as - Buy one get one free -- while the cost of other honey is more than Lion honey...

even in lion dates syrup i find some thick sediments. i dont whether it is worth buying it or not from now on...

i am just emptying the large 500 gm bottle instead of sugar !!:coffee

    >70% of honey contains Sugars. Over a period of time, they might crystalize. so it is not an issue. The taste and color remains the same.

So keep loving Honey.. and Lion's honey.. Honey!!!
