Being pampered from childhood, He always had people around him. His wish was their command yet He missed something deep within. He grew up to be a fine young man, Married early and had a son too. Yet he felt that these things can Satisfy many, but he wasn't. True. Seeing an old man, a terminally ill Person and a deceased, he was shook. Why should these happen? By whose will? He asked. No answer made him to look Within himself, and he realized that Perhaps he may find answers to those If only he continued his seeking but He had to leave many things close. He left one midnight after kissing His son, prayed his wife to forgive Parting them then, but leaving To get what he sought to live In peace, as it continued to Torment him, without a halt. Begging for food and knowledge true, He wandered, his quest not once stalled. After what seemed to be An eternity, he found the Answers and that set him free. He went back to the place that he Deserted in the beginning and Did not stop there but went ahead To spread his knowledge to noble and Poor alike for years which fled. The enlightened one lives today Through what he said and how he lived. The statues and scriptures say More about the one who loved Everyone alike till the end. Such rare souls do come and go Once perhaps in a century and Revives so many to be born anew.
Wow!! This is the story of Gowthama Buddha Right? You are such a beautiful writer, you conveyed the entire story in just a single poem..
A great soul indeed, But sometimes, The thought of his wife and son come to mind. But we cannot really apply such rules to everybody. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for your feedback and like, Lakshmi KM Bhat. As you mentioned, saints and rishis and a few other extraordinary people [not necessarily male] are excluded from what binds others. Well said. -rgs
