    This is commonly called as Paakharkaai/Bittergourd, it belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae,

    Bitter gourd is the best medicine for diabetes.
    It is rich in A, B1, B2, C vitamins and Iron.
    This kills germs in the stomach.
    This reduces unnecessary body heat.
    It is helpful in digestion, joint pain and gas problems.
    Leaves are used to cure piles.
    This bitter juice can also help to build your immune system and increase your body's resistance against infection.
    Bitter melon juice may be beneficial in the treatment of a hangover for its alcohol intoxication properties. It also help cleanse and repair and nourish liver problems due to alcohol consumption.
    Bitter gourd contains beneficial properties that cleanses the blood from toxins.

    Procumbent Yellow-sorrel/Pulichakeerai

    Oxalis corniculata

    This is commonly called as Procumbent Yellow-sorrel/Pulichakeerai, it belongs to the family oxalidaceae.

    This plant is anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, depurative, diuretic, febrifuge.
    It is used in the treatment of influenza, fever, urinary tract infections, enteritis, diarrhea, traumatic injuries, sprains and poisonous snake bites.
    An infusion can be used as a wash to rid children of hookworms.
    The plant is a good source of vitamin C and is used as an antiscorbutic in the treatment of scurvy.
    The leaves are crushed and used as an external application in the conditions like painful swelling or any inflammation. This will provide a cooling effect to these areas and reduce the symptoms.
    The leaf juice is applied to insect bites, burns and skin eruptions. It has an antibacterial activity.

    Acalypha indica

    It is commonly known as Kuppaimeni,It belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae

    The leaves are ground along with manjal and applied externally over ulcers, poisonous bites.
    It is Anti-bacterial, Anti-Vatha, Anthelmintic, Expectorant, Diuretic.
    It is a very good remedy in the treatment of piles and fistula
    The leaves are ground to a fine paste and applied on rashes, ringworms etc.
    To treat dogs that suffer from rashes, the paste of the whole plant with turmeric is applied on the rashes with a comb. Application of this paste for a couple of times can cure your pet dog.

    Coriander

    Coriandrum sativum

    This is commonly known as Coriander, it belongs to the family Apiaceae.

    Uses

    For indigestion, nausea and vomiting, one to two teaspoonfuls of fresh coriander juice mixed with a glassful of fresh buttermilk can be taken two to three times a day. The same will prove to be useful in case of hiccup, excessive salivation, bitterness in the mouth, giddiness, jaundice, piles, dysentery, ulcerative colitis, burning in the arms and pinworm infection.

    Chewing fresh leaves cures stomatitis, bad breath and prevents pyorrhea and dental caries.

    Externally, the juice of the leaf can be applied over forehead as a medicine for migraine and other types of headaches. Not only this, the juice can also be used as a cosmetic agent.

    The leaves of coriander are stimulant and tonic. They strengthen the stomach and promote its action, relieve flatulence, increase secretion and discharge of urine and reduce fever.

    Coriander seeds check excessive menstrual flow.

    Take a teaspoonful of the leaf juice. Mix with a pinch of turmeric powder and apply over the face every night as remedy for pimples, black heads and dryness of the skin. This will bleach the skin and bloom the complexion.

    It is a good for gout, rheumatism, colds, fevers and catarrhal problems as well as for relieving flatulence, skin problems, scrofula and ringworms.
    It is blood purifier and said to be promoting health and cure all kinds of diseases caused by vitiated blood.

    This plant acts as a Antiseptic, Astringent, Febrifuge, Ophthalmic, Purgative, Tonic.

    The leaf extract of Eclipta alba is considered to be a powerful liver tonic. It is considered rejuvenative and good for hair. A black die is obtained from it which is used as hair dye.

    The extract of Bhringraj is mixed with the extract of amla and Brahmi and used to blacken the hair.

    This is commonly known as Tarwar/Avaram, it belongs to the family Fabaceae

    Avarai poothu irukka savarai kandathu undo is a Tamil proverb meaning when there is avaram poo, is there any death ?

    Cassia auriculata traditionally has been used to treat diabetes from ancient times. It rejuvenates the body and reduce blood sugar levels drastically . Its bark is used for tanning .

    The leaves have laxative properties.

    The dried flowers and flower buds are used as a substitute for tea in case of diabetes patients.

    It is also believed to improve the complexion in women. Grind the flowers and make it as a pack and leave it for 10 minutes, the face will glow.

    The flowers are dried and used along with shikakai for hair wash.
