singapore-chennai ILties

hi friends, wish to know from IL chennities who are staying in singapore or abroad. I'm from chennai and staying in s'pore for past 12 years. This is just to disscus about chennai..returning back ...schooling, admission, housing, settling...cost of living etc... and ofcourse get to know each other...

Glad to see that this thread has been started. Me too, am from Chennai, Besant Nagar. Have 1 sweet little daughter doing Pri 1. Staying in Singapore for 13 years. How many kids do you have?? Waiting to see more Chennaiites in this thread soon. Bye for now.

Hi latha, nice of you responding. I have 2 daughters, 9 and 6 1/2 years old and in pr4 and pr1 resp. I'm a home maker right now. I stay near sengkang and what about u where do you stay in s'pore?

I am also from chennai and expecting to move to singapore in march.
I ahve a 5yr old kid.where r u staying in S'pore.

How is life @singapore?which r the most important things to carry from here?
And about schools which is good for my 5 yr old kid. indian schools or local schools?

we have not decided the place to stay as we have not decided on the school.
Any suggestions?

How is life @singapore?
life goes quite well, pls do'nt compare with India.
In my opinion and looking few places abroad singapore is
ok if you are a law abiding person. Regarding the lifestyle
it is of both worlds (i mean west and east).

buwhich r the most important things to carry from here?
my view: grinder, mixie, pressure cooker, your preferred indian vessels
and good indian dresses. Even these are available here
with 30% cost raise. other than these all indian provision are available.

And about schools which is good for my 5 yr old kid. indian schools or local schools?
you can look at the other threads discussing regarding this.

choose a house which has mrt(local train ) or bus stop and markets nearby so that its easy for your husband to commute to his workplace. also look out others threads for housing in singapore.
