While this is very normal for a boy who has stayed @ home for 21 years, seeking some help / tips for him to cope up there . Any help would be greatly appreciated with deep sense of gratitude

Welcome to Indusladies!
I guess its been only a few weeks since your son moved to another country. It will take time for him to get used to the new country, its ways and to make friends. UIC is a very popular destination for Indian students. There are Indian student associations which he can join and take part in Indian cultural celebrations. During his spare time, he can go around Chicago and visit the various museums. There are 2 big South Indian temples in Aurora and Lemont (both suburbs) with friends and volunteer if he likes.
Also doing something that he has always liked like reading a favorite book or continuing a favorite hobby is helpful in tiding away loneliness.
Very soon he will be busy with studies and work, so there would not be any time to mope. Also he would soon make good friends. Don't worry.
Please let me know if any kind of get together is going on in this group or why can't we plan one?
hope you are doing good..glad to see that your hobby is making new friends.. May I know which place you live? I am looking for friends..TIA
