I have lost interest in everything I do. Maybe it is just a phase or that time in everybody's life when things change people change and our moods also change! I try to stay and remain happy/calm with great difficulty. I constantly keep reminding myself that I promised to stay happy and not brood over anything. But I do not think I can continue like this for long. of late I seem to be withdrawn. I am not even involved in my hobbies as I used to. I do not watch TV or listen to music with interest. Even at work there is no self initiative. I am just doing whatever is required to stay on the job. I have reduced talking with my friends too that it has become noticeable in social surroundings. I feel like giving a reason(sick) and stay aloof. I prefer not to take anyone to stressful diagnostic tests either. Do not feel like sharing pretty much anything to anyone. I was not like this before. I was a chatterbox and whole world would know what is happening in my life. My husband thinks that I am sharing everything with friends and just gloomy in front of him while my friends think I am busy these days. Just roaming around with a fake smile which I am sure is going to fall off pretty soon. Don't know what to do. I cannot seek any professional help as my surrounding thinks that I am faking everything. I don't want to go on any medications either. I am tired of everything. I have to keep myself in a routine forcibly and if I fail one day it's hard to get back on track. Just venting out and dont know what to do.

I may not be able to acknowledge every reply but Thanks for taking time to read and trying to help.

    TIA

What do you brood over? If you give us an idea about what bothers you we can help.

This may be caused by some physical conditions as well like thyroid dysfunction, some vitamin deficiency...i had thyroid dysfunction and didnt know it for a long time but i suffered from lethargy, lack of interest in stuff which normally i was enthusiastic to do etc. After being diagnosed i was disbelieving that physical problem could lead to mental sluggishness but after starting the treatment my enthusiasm improved.

Another reason could be something which happened in your life which is making you lose interest.. Purely psychological reasons... These days it is becoming common... No need to go to doctor for it.... My suggestion would be to get into spirituality. This is very effective in removing the clouds from our heart and clearing up our vision, when we allow the sunlight of God to enter our lives. Some meditation, prayers, puja...

You seem depressed. Irrespective of what others think about your condition please seek help. Have you had a physical done ? @kalcandu is right about thyroid dysfunction . Get your blood test done and if everything seems normal then get some help. Not medication but atleast some counseling . Please take care.

@Gaiya3, it sounds like you have clinical depression and need medical help. Please speak to your primary care physician. Don't worry about what people around you say or think. Let a professional help you get back on track.

Why not? Medication can help you, don't rule it out.

My prayers are with you. Get healthy soon. Hugs.
