If sources in the industry are to be believed, TV actress Priya Bhavani Shankar, who made her debut in feature films with the critically acclaimed rom-com Meyaadha Maan will be seen playing a crucial role in Vijay Sethupathi’s comedy action entertainer 'Junga'. Junga already has Sayeeshaa of Vanamagan fame as the main female lead and the shoot is currently progressing in Europe. Priya is also said to have signed as one of the three heroines in director Pandiraj's next with actor.

The makers of ‘2 Point 0’ have neither confirmed nor denied all the reports/ rumors on the film getting pushed from January 25 to April 13.

But loyal fans of Rajinikanth want their actor to not miss the Republic Day weekend and various reports also suggested that Superstar’s gangster flick ‘Kaala’, which is scheduled to release on April is likely to be advanced to January. But Dhnaush's Wunderbar Films, producers of Kaala denied any such development. “Contrary to rumours and articles, #Kaala would not be ready for a January nor Pongal release. @dhanushkraja @vinod_wunderbar", posted Wunderbar Films on Twitter.

We hear that Lyca Production, producers of ‘2 Point 0’ is also in talks with Dhanush to acquire the theatrical rights of Kaala so they are trying their best to not shuffle the release dates.

 

‘Bigg Boss’ Aarav confirms his new film

Aarav, the title winner of the first season of Tamil ’Bigg Boss’ has announced that he will be seen playing the lead role in ‘Silambattam’ director Saravanan’s next. To be produced by Vijaya Bhargavi Entertainment, the rest of the cast and crew of this yet untitled film will be announced soon. “Roaring high.... My first project after Bigg Boss!! #Director Saravanan (Silambattam fame) #VijayaBhargavi Entertainment!! Much excited”, posted Aarav on his official Twitter handle. Saravanan also has Sippai with Gautham Karthik and Lakshmi Menon but the film is getting delayed for unknown reasons. Aarav was recently invited to Mani Ratnam’s residence so everyone thought that the actor is the latest addition in the maverick director’s upcoming multistarrer with Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh.


‘Bigg Boss’ Julie to host a TV show!

Julie, who grabbed everyone’s attention with her Jallikattu protest slogan became even more popular with the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Julie used to work as a nurse before her debut in Bigg Boss but due to the sudden popularity, she couldn’t continue with her profession and at the right time, an offer to host ‘Odi Vilayadu Papa’ dance show in Kalaignar TV came in her way. Apparently, the offer came through Kollywood’s popular dance master Kala and Julie immediately accepted it without any second thought. Julie is said to have already shot for two episodes of Odi Vilayadu Papa, which will be soon aired on Kalaignar TV. In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss, Julie said that her dream is to become an anchor in TV shows and hosting Odi Vilayadu Papa is a dream come true moment for her!

Harish, Raiza of Bigg Boss fame team up for a rom com

Harish and the pretty Raiza of Bigg Boss Tamil fame will be acting together in a romantic comedy that will be directed by Elan. Elan is the director of the supernatural thriller Graghanam, starring Krishna and Chandran. The untitled film is a light-hearted romance, and Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music for it. The team is planning to release the first look of the film on November 5.

 

We've seen television stars venturing into Kollywood in the past, and the list includes names like Santhanam, Sivakarthikeyan, Aishwarya Rajesh, Priya Bhavanishankar, and many others. Now, the latest to join this list is leading VJ Ramya, who has hosted quite a few popular shows on television.


Ramya would be making her Kollywood debut as the lead, with the film Sanga Thalaivan, starring Samuthirakani. The film is produced by Vetri Maaran and directed by Udhayam NH4 fame Manimaran. Ramya took to her social media page to announce this through her tweet, "Extremely excited to collaborate with @VetriMaaran @VelrajR @Manimaran_dir @thondankani on a lead role for #Sangathalaivan .Need Ur wishes n blessings"


Though Ramya has already featured in cameo roles in films like OK Kanmani, and Masss, this would be her first full-fledged role as the lead heroine. Best wishes to Ramya on this new opportunity.
