    Hello Ladies

    I am looking to buy some Indian kitchen gadgets when I go to India in a month or so.I would like to know what kid of appliances you ladies have in your kitchen and find it really useful.It would really help if you could provide the brand name of the appliance you use and may be a link to some pics.

    The only Indian appliances I have in my kitchen are

    1) Ultra 2lit wet grinder
    2) National mixer/grinder

    I am sure there are other gadgets that will make my life a little easier in the Kitchen. So let hear the list of your gadgets..

    Come on ladies, I am sure a lot of you have some nice useful Indian appliances in your kitchen. Let us share it. I will start by asking some questions;

    - what chappathi making machine do you own. anyone heard of Rotimatic.
    - does any one own a Murukku making gadget

    We are yet to set home in Chennai. But below are my plans
    1. 4 burner duplex model gas stove like this
    2. Fridge with French doors as in Fridge model - LG GC-B40BSSRJ
    3. Preethi Blue Leaf Mixie - while i like the steele, am not ready to let go off 750 watts from leaf to 600 watts from steele
    4. ELGI Ultra Grinder Perfect + - comes with timer & 10 yr warranty. I had always wanted a timer on my grinder, as otherwise I feel chained to the grinder, till the task gets done.
    5. Microwave - yet to choose.
    6. Oven - Yet to choose.
    7. Hand Mixer - Yet to choose.
    8. Sandwich Maker - Yet to choose.
    9. Roti Maker - (Optional). As of now, have no plans as we just make 4-5 rotis a day, probably once or twice a week.
    10. Food Processor - Optional.. May be down the line, not now !

    As of now, this is my list. I have lived mostly in US after marriage, and I like these useful. Am not going for Toaster or Rice cooker, as I dont seem to enjoy them much. We end up using Tawa for toasts mostly, and DH & me prefer to drain out the starch out of rice. So, there you go !

    Will update more if something more come to mind.

    Yes, I own a murukku maker. It has been very useful for me, esp during festivals.

    I am going to get an Ultra grinder with timer. do you know if they make the grinder in 1.25 lit with the timer.

    even am interested in the murukku maker. Does it make murukku similar to kai murukku or is it for making thengozhal?
