Kindergeld and Elterngeld in Germany

Hi All,

I am living in Berlin, Germany with my husband. I am expecting my baby on December. My initial plan was to bring my mom here as a support for me since i cannot manage everything alone. Now thinking of the winter here and also my mom's health, we are planning to have my delivery in India. I would like to know if anyone is aware of how long can we stay in india, while i heard its just 6 months only and i should return back with baby. But last day when I had a talk with one of my friends in Essen, she was telling me about some "Sondergemeinigung" (i dont knw if i spelled it right ). So if we have this then we can stay in India as along as we want not more than 3 years..... I checked in internet but i couldn't find any answer for this. If anyone knows about it please do let me know. It's just a bit of information, about which even my friend couldn't confirm 100%. So if its true i would like to know about it at the earliest so that we can plan everything accordingly.
