    Nithya,

Gas can be real problematic for kids even for adults.

Avoid giving too much of gaseous foods - potatoes, beans, dals - I know most can't be avoided. But when there is tempering (tadka) required in any dish, like dals, etc, I always temper with jeera, rather than mustard.

Jeera is very soothing.... you can give your daughter some & then give her warm water to drink. Be sure to chew jeera well. You can add a few ajwain too.

You can prepare a decotion of jeera too. Roast jeera in a vessel, & once they start to splutter, rotate then to avoid burning.... add water & bring to a boil. Allow to reduce to nearly 1/2 of the water you put.

You can add a pinch of salt if wanted & have it lukewarm. (You can add ajwain in this as well.)

    Nithya,

this is another home remedy which works very well for me as well:)

for stomach ache caused by indigestion:

roast one tsp of ajwain (omam). Boil it in one cup of water until the water is reduced to about 1/4 cup. Strain and drink when the kashayam is still warm. For children give one tsp thrice a day.

In winter i also add little bit of crushed omam in chapathi, sabjis. it relieves gas.

    Nithya,

You can add perungaayam to her food.It relieves gas.You can add a bit to sambar, rasam, chutney, curries whatever you feed her and try to avoid gassy foods like pototo, broccoli, etc.Even I used to mix it to my every meal since I'm feeding my two month old to avoid gas in her.HTH.

    Pinky.
