Keeping kesari hot for potluck

Hi

I'm planning to make kesari for office potluck

I'm in two minds:

Should I serve it cold or hot? If I leave it cold it may become too hard and unappetizing .. ( even white ppl r in potluck) n I think they may wonder y the sweet is hard

Or I was thinking if I leave it cold I can cut into shapes but I donno how the taste will be ?? What do you say??

If I want to heat it before lunch can I use microwave oven??

Please help ladies.. I've not done many potlucks.. I thought kesari was simple but I'm confused
