Just Want Start Reading

You could also try checking out a website called Goodreads, so you can see reviews of books (and related books) to get an idea.

 

There is no such thing - when you read, it is always 'about' something. Even fiction is about life, science-fiction is about alternative worlds, fantasy fiction is about imaginary worlds.

First figure out why you want to read. That may help lead to a what. Then experiment without guilt. If something does not grab you or sustain your interest, abandon it ruthlessly. One lifetime is not enough to read everything there is to read. So, toss, toss, toss until you find something that holds your attention. Then follow where that path reads you. One book inevtiably leads to many more. It is a garden of forking paths!

One little caveat: it is possible that you will find yourself irresistibly attracted to trash - we all are. Should that happen, just remind yourself that junk-food does more damage than good. Indulge, but ration it. Avoid connecting a sewer pipe to your cerebral cortex. Read at the edge of your ability as much as possible and refine consciously.

 

I don't believe there is any fixed book to start reading. What one likes, the other may not.

But you can opt genre based or author based.

If you aren't very aware about the authors, Start with your favourite genre, that's the easy option. Sci-fi, romance, thriller, comedy, fantasy are some of the easy fun genres to explore. You can also opt for biographies, developmental, histories, if that interests you.

Once you pick your genre, google for top books or in 'good reads' for current popular books or even put in il and start from there.

If you have a local library or a book lending store, that will be a good way to start too.
