Purnima, proceeding fast with today's lesson ?

Dukha nivrutti & sukha prapthi can be put in simple words as " pazhayana kazithalum, puthiyana pukuthalum", as we say in tamil.
They are not the same. You don't pour new water in a vessel which still has some old water. You pour out the old water first & the fill up with new water. The same way, we want to get over unhappy things & then welcome good things.
Here Truth means the Ultimate Truth. We will go deeper, very gradually.
I am very happy that youngsters like you are showing interest.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

You are always supportive, Meena !

I did have a lot of reservations about writing posts on vedanta. I "consulted myself " many many times & finally decided to go ahead.
That I have already got 5 F B s proves, that my decision is blessed by God.
Please continue with me, my dear Meena.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Beautiful Begining

    Dear Ms C,

That was a excellent start. I always belive that vedantam is never ending and so liked the second meaning better than the first one. Your explanations were very simple and does not make for heavy reading at all. Please do continue this series on vedantam.

    Dear Vandhana !

I am really very happy that you are all enjoying the vedanta post.
As I wrote earlier, I plan to alternate this with " Why do we... "
I too need plenty of time to go through all my class notes & present in as simple a form as possible. Now I am enjoying it so very much, that I should thank all of you, more than your thanking me.
    Please continue with me, Vandhana.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mrs.Chitra,

This is my first reply in this thread. I have been reading all of your spiritual discussions. Im so glad you are discussing this topic bcos it us more relevant at this time. Its so true that we always go in search of happiness, but I think no matter the situation or circumstance we are in its up to the person to be happy or not. This philosophy if practised is surely a great path to the ultimate goal of self realization. I am so thankful to you for sharing your spiritual knowledge, so all of us can benefit. Looking forward to reading more on this topic.

    Love
    Shobana

    Sorry chith for delayed feedback.

    :clap Dear chith,
Just now read your post .It is fantastically simple, as simple in style as Swamiji Paramaarthananda.Your first post is very motivating and I am very happy it has roused the interest of all youngsters who are open if not great students of vedantha. I agree with you in a way. I always think a person young or old can be introduced to vedanthic thoughts if he or she does not have a set mind that vedanthic jargon is too difficult for lay man. Only those inhibited people will think that your style is difficult to follow. It is astounding that there ARE youngsters who are open to elevated thoughts in the midst of many who think vedantha as varattu vedantham. Thank you for shifting our thoughts to a higher level suddenly from karmas and puja formats.
    Regards,
    Meenu
    Did you miss my post?

To tell you honestly, yes, I did , Meenu !

Being used to listening to Swamiji's classes, anything other than simple language is elusive ! I think that is Swamiji's gift to his students.
Yes, you are right, mind set and openness to learn without preconceived prejudices make all the difference.
Don't think I have shifted completely to Vedanta. I plan to give a " mixture" of pujas and karmas as welland I hope you will all like the proportion !
Please continue with me, Meenu !
    Love & regards,
    Chith.
