Is UPT confirms pregnancy?

Hi Ladies,

Today is my 46 th day from my periods,my gyn tested UPT and it shows negative.She asked me to wait for another 15 days.

Usually I will get my periods on 33 rd day.

Will the Urine Pregnancy test is enough to say the pregnancy.

Does any one got negative UPT,but got pregnant?

In most cases UPT provides accurate results, it actually shows the presence of Hormone - HCG which is released by the baby. sometimes this hormone is very low due to many reasons hence unable to detect the preg. through urine test. In that case wait and try again is the best option as the baby grows the amount of hormone released also increases.
you can also try by blood test and any way follow your doc advice.
I never heard that UPT result negative but preg is positive, but yes sometimes in pregnancy test card it slightly appears the line which is again a positive result only
Don't worry. IF you have no other health problems then getting late periods is not a problem

Yes I've heard of negative test but positive pregnancy. So opt for blood work for confirmation. All the best.

Will depend on the test kit you are using. Some are very accurate in measuring low hcg in urine (from 25 mIU/ml to 50 mIU/ml) . If it not sensitive enough to detect below 50 mIU/ml ,wont show positive . Please test after some days

Thanks for the replies mrunalini,dgcreative and purple dreams.

As you all suggested,I will do HPT after few days.I used 'I-can' pregnancy kit.Please suggest me a HPT kit,which will detect low hcg
